The Weathervane is getting ready for another great summer in Whitefield . . . and in getting repairs and building underway in time for welcoming you.  The devastating fire that consumed our original Theatre took valuable work space, dressing rooms, props and tools - not to mention the entire gallery corridor, restrooms, and nearly the entire interior wall of the main theatre.  Passers-by on Route 3 are seeing the signs of work underway, as one group illustrates with the ceremonial shovel marking the new start.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 10th:  A Whitefield firefighter holds up the signature weathervane that toppled from the peak of the old barn when fire destroyed the original home of the Theatre.  Valiant efforts by multiple fire departments saved the new theatre in the small hours of the morning - though not without damage to the adjacent part of the building.

The scope of the project - repairs, rebuilding, and replacing all the space lost - far exceeded insurance coverage; and look for a variety of support and fundraising initiatives to be launched soon.
