The Weathervane Community is more than a summer's worth of performance:  all year round, staff and volunteers, Company and friends, all actively remain connected to the Theatre community.  You can also learn about names and faces of Weathervane's growing alumni by visiting their site at www.wvalum.org

We've also added some links to the bottom of this page -- area Chambers and Associations.  We'll do our best to keep adding to this page with bits and notes, events and activities as they unfold!

PSU AUDITIONS:  a new NH-based opportunity for local performers and professionals to work in their own backyard.  A partnership between the University System and newly-formed NH Professional Theatre Association held a first-ever event at Plymouth's Silver Center early in April . . . and plans are underway for March 2009.

NH THEATRE AWARDS 2008: Scott McGowan was entertaining at Starry Night when he got the phone call that he had won a second Best Supporting Actor award for his role in last summer's Evita. Scott and daughter Shaelyn stopped by to pick up this year's statuette on a North Country visit.

Also honored at the awards:  finalist Jacques Stewart in Best Direction and Choreography categories for Evita; Molly Meg Legal for Choreography in Country Cookin'; Liz Power for Best Actress in Evita; and Jacques Stewart & Elaina Cope for Best Original, Country Cookin'.

STARRY, STARRY NIGHT 2008:  Fans and friends spent the evening dancing and dining, bidding on a wide array of silent auctions, and winning door and raffle prizes - all the while entertained by WV Alums and the Berlin Jazz Band . . . having another superb night at the Mountain View Grand!

ANNUAL MEETING celebrates solid financial showing and new Board members.

The October meeting had everyone smiling at the financial reports that show Weathervane finished the year with flair.  Posing at the home of MJ Chase were Ed Shanshala, Secretary Joan LeBaron, John Wissler, President Dan Salomon, Dick Alberini, and Treasurer Dave Kenney.

Some end of Season business.  Exit meetings of department heads, staff, actors, and management are all part of a busy post-summer work.  One bit of fun was the random drawing of the winner of two tickets to opening night 2008 -- drawn from the 'Best of' survey balloting by managing director Richard Portner, artistic director Jacques Stewart and producing director Gibbs Murray.

The winner?  Ivy Gogo!

A benefit PEACE TRAIN on Sunday, August 26 brought together four alums and a supportive audience.

Proceeds were shared between the Theatre and the WVAA . . . and performers and audience alike shared a reception at the MVG.  As the sun set behind the clubhouse, revellers relaxed and rejoiced in another opportunity to visit with friends and performers from near and far.  At right, Mark Bradley Miller, Jennifer Neuland and Mary Lee (Marson) Aloia with Jacques Stewart.

SUMMER AUCTION PARTY ATTRACTS MERRY-MAKERS, and proved a popular fundraiser.  Just a few photos from the afternoon of July 29.  Committee, Board members and friends were everywhere:  among them, Wendy Joseffy manning one silent table, MJ Chase (with an Evita-like pose) helps display live auction item, Lore Dodge in foreground while Bruce Perlo photographs the photographer, and Mary Doherty makes a dash back to her table.
