Our Annual Meeting was held in October.
Graciously hosted by Board member Lore Moran Dodge, it was an opportunity to review Season 43 activities, fundraising, and also to celebrate some notable landmarks.

Taking time out to pose:  John Wissler (who 'commutes' to Board meetings from southern NH), Joan LeBaron, Richard Portner, Dan Salomon, and David LeBaron.

Wissler will assume new duties as Fundraising chair; and the LeBarons were congratulated with gifts as they retired from active Board duties after many years.  Richard Portner, after 42 years with the Weathervane also retired from active daily work at the Theatre -- both he and Terry can be seen below as closing night honorees during 'Best of 2008' celebrations.  Dan Salomon remains as Board President, with officers Dave Kenney, treasurer; Ed Shanshala, vice-president; and Dick Alberini, secretary (a complete list of Board members can be found on the 'about us' link) . . . and Lyn Winter will succeed Portner as Managing Director.

Gibbs Murray spoke eloquently of both Richard and Terry Portner as the two of them joined the entire Season 43 company onstage at the close of 'Best of 2008' . . . and a standing ovation paid honor to them both.

THE WEATHERVANE'S SUCCESS DEPENDS ON AUDIENCES AND BENEFACTORS:
Take note of some special sponsors:  Presby Environmental and Littleton Coin Co. are both "First Night" sponsor of productions.  Their generous investment in live theatre in Whitefield serves in great part to deliver both Oklahoma! and All the Great Books [abridged] to this 43rd Season.
